Pen Drives

pendrivePen drives are one of the best in new technology. They act just like a floppy disk where you can transport and hold files and programs and open them anywhere there is a computer. They are stylish, smart and built to be as small as a pen. Most people are not even using floppy disks anymore and are turning to a more advanced method such as the pen drive.

There are many different styles you can choose from. You can pick from any color imaginable and styles can vary too. They can be slim or chunky and can be long or short depending on the brand and style. There are even some devices that are designed to look like jewellery or shaped like a sports jersey and meant to be carried as a key chain. With all of the available themed pen drives and shapes and sizes there is one to fit every taste. It`s hard to carry around an old floppy disk with all of the stylish and creative pen drives out there, in fact it almost seems silly.

Dr Martin Cooper, a former general manager for the systems division at Motorola, is considered the inventor of the first modern portable handset. Cooper made the first call on a portable cell phone in April 1973. He made the call to his rival, Joel Engel, Bell Labs head of research. Bell Laboratories introduced the idea of cellular communications in 1947 with the police car technology. However, Motorola was the first to incorporate the technology into portable device that was designed for outside of a automobile use. Cooper and his co-inventors are listed above.

It’s called ‘cellular’ because the system uses many base stations to divide a service area into multiple ‘cells’. Cellular calls are transferred from base station to base station as a user travels from cell to cell. – definition from the Wireless Advisor Glossary.

The basic concept of cellular phones began in 1947, when researchers looked at crude mobile (car) phones and realized that by using small cells (range of service area) with frequency reuse they could increase the traffic capacity of mobile phones substantially. However at that time, the technology to do so was nonexistent.
