The goal of Nintendo with this product was to revolutionize the home gaming console industry. Many consumers were very excited about the ideas but some worried that they wouldn’t be able to materialize.

Those doubts were soon cast aside though when Nintendo revealed their concept for the wireless controller at a show in Japan in 2005. In late 2006 The Nintendo Wii was in high demand. In fact, stores couldn’t get enough of them to fill the demands for the holidays. Many people were paying thousands of dollars for them on eBay and other online auction sites. There were also plenty of charity fundraisers selling high volumes of tickets due to the prize being a Nintendo Wii.

The Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS are the most successful consoles of our time. As of June 2008 the Nintendo DS has sold over 20 million units in the US. The Sales of the DS Lite have reached 58.72 million units worldwide. Nintendo anticipates worldwide sales of the Wii to reach 50 million units by March 2009.

While the DS Lite at least comes in different colors there is nothing else that distinguishes your gaming device from the consoles of your friends. But there is always the possibility of applying a Nintendo skin or decal that you can put on your gadget of choice to give it an individual look. It’s like a second skin that wraps around your device to keep it safe. As a bonus a Nintendo skin keeps dirt, dust and fingerprints of the gadgets so they last longer and if you ever chose to sell it the resale value would be significantly higher.

Released first on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America and Asia, and March 23, 2007 in Europe and Oceania, the game console enjoys a third place in sales and marketing. The PlayStation 3 is considered as the first console with next-generation primary storage media, Blu-ray Disc, in spite of its supporting to DVDs, CDs, HDDs and with some models SACDs. The PlayStation 3 game console can also play back content from Blu-ray Disc (BD) at a bit rate of multiplex 48Mbps, the maximum bit rate defined in BD standards.
