Samsung Wave 723

The Samsung Wave 723 is the fourth phone in the ‘wave’ category of Samsung phones and it is yet another launch featuring the ‘Bada’ platform. The Bada platform may be a budget platform, but the feature list of this phone suggests otherwise. Unsurprisingly, there a few features which are missing from the ‘wave’ phones which are more expensive.

The phone is quite good looking and is does well to hide the fact that it is a budget phone. It has a leather cover to protect the touch screen hence eliminating the need for any separate covers for protection. The Samsung wave 723 features a 3.2-inch LCD display instead of the AMOLED displays in the other wave phones. The phone has a 5-megapixel camera with dedicated buttons on the side for activating it. The camera comes with a dual LED flash for better low light photography.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0. The Samsung wave 723 has the ‘Samsung Social Hub’, which is basically an app which lets you to connect easily to various social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Samsung’s app support is also offered, which makes managing apps a breeze. GPS is also included. The internal memory offered by the phone is only substantial, but it can be increased to 16GB via memory card expansion slots. The Samsung wave 723 has Touch 3.0 operating system, which makes the various operations of the phone a breeze.

The device has been released in Germany this September and one can expect launches in the UK in around late October. As far as the prices go, the Samsung wave 723 will be less expensive than the other Wave models. It is expected to retail at around £200, which has not been confirmed by Samsung yet. Latest speculation comes from the former President of Google China Kai-Fu Lee. Like most analysts predicted, Lee also mentioned that the Apple tablet will most likely be launched in mid-January 2010. Interestingly, Lee added the prediction that the Apple tablet will have a three-dimensional graphics capabilities (3D). Furthermore, Lee said that the first release of Apple boss Steve Jobs will be poured approximately 10 million units Apple tablet.
